We went back to our favourite canvas for this six yards of dreams, a buttery soft off-white Jamdani handwoven right at the looms of Bengal. And chose off-white herself for them beautiful, petal-filled blossoms to be spread all over the fabric – serenity and power, all the same. For our love of detailing, we wanted lace – loads and loads of it! The whole saree is framed with a broad intricate crocheted lace border, rows of pastel threadwork and further framed with another layer of thin lace over the selvedge, just the amount needed for happy smiles, if we may.
Remember those nights of yearning for spring blooms while shivering under blankets in January? Of counting days before every Durga Puja and Diwali, only wishing the festive days to last a little longer? Perhaps, to be hungover on a season is as real as it gets. Autumn’s Kashphool to December’s Boroline; August’s paper boats to the fresh blooms of Spring- we find our bit of special in them, making our unique stories of everyday beautiful!
